Two Years of Blogging + What I’ve Learned

I published my first blog post on November 12th, 2015 which you can find here. On that post, the photography was sub-par and the writing was short and sweet. All together I think I was a different person back then.

A lot has changed in the past 2 years: I’ve traveled more than I ever had before in my whole life, I’ve met some of the most inspirational people I’ve ever known, and I’ve seen the world in a whole new way as an expat living in Rome. Safe to say, I think I’ve grown as a person overall. I hope those who know me personally would agree.

Goodbye Winter

I refuse to believe that mid-March is already knocking on our door. This winter was our first in nearly 5 years living in Miami, which I was sort of looking forward to, but without regard it seems to be moving on as quickly as it arrived. In contrast to how quickly winter as fleeted, I think I often fail to realize how fortunate I am to be able to live at such a slow pace compared to how my life was a year ago. I used to stress about finding enough time or energy to accomplish anything else outside of work, whereas nowadays, my day to day routine usually consists of a 30 minute workout, working on my blog or YouTube channel, catching up on emails, and teaching for 1 or maybe 2 hours a day.

Last month was certainly one to remember for both Jared and I. Thankfully I was able to document the memories all through my YouTube channel as I was participating in my first Vlogmas series. What is Vlogmas you ask? Well Vlogmas is a compilation of daily vlogging throughout the month of December during the Christmas season. Vlog + Christmas = Vlogmas. Don’t ask who came up with the idea…I’m just along for the ride.
