One thing I can say I love about the chillier weather here in Rome is the excuse to layer. The reason why this is a big deal to me is because after living in Miami for 4 years, I haven’t been able to play around with dressing in long sleeves and jackets until now! I didn’t bring much of a wardrobe when I moved here, so it’s nice to make it look as if I have new things by pulling out my fall/winter ensemble.

Hanging out in the garden/lounge area at The Beehive

The garden at The Beehive
The weather here in Rome has been dreary and rainy lately, which takes the temp down a notch, but this day was sunny and nice out. So we decided to take advantage of that and head over to take some pictures at my friend Linda’s hotel, The Beehive.

Entryway to the hotel
This cute, eco-friendly ho[s]tel is located right outside of Termini, so a perfect location for travelers on a budget. The lounge area/garden in the front is a great place to relax and hang out. There are often events held here as well, such as the Rome Bloggers Meetup next month!
This fall I am looking forward to having our first visitors in town, as well as experiencing the holiday season in Rome. Halloween is not as popular here as it is in America, so we will probably sit that one out. Thanksgiving obviously doesn’t exist here, so we will try to replicate a Thanksgiving dinner in place of it as much as we possibly can with the limited variety of traditional Thanksgiving food than I’m used to at the local supermarket. Christmas, or Natale, and New Years should be very fun and festive, although the “holiday spirit” isn’t as overwhelming here as it is in the states so not really in the “holiday mood” just yet.

What are your plans this holiday season? Any traveling? What holiday are you looking forward to the most?
All my love,
Estrella
Love this. Can’t wait to share Rome with you two.

Christmas is definitely my favorite, and so is New Years! I am not too big on Halloween or Thanksgiving. Glad to see the temps cooling for you guys! It’s still pretty warm here, but I’m sure you know if you lived in Miami haha. Your friend’s hotel is super cute and so quaint! I love little mom and pop hotels like that. I will definitely look in to staying there if I ever find myself in Roma!! π

Yes, it’s so nice to finally experience seasons here after living in a tropical climate city for so long!! Thank you, I am all about hotels like that that aren’t over extravagant. They feel more homey and you can make friends with others that work there π I am so beyond excited for Christmas and New Years too. Interested to see how the holidays are here so stay tuned π
