I never thought I’d see the day but it’s finally starting to cool down in Rome, signs of fall slowly moving in. The heat was so intense and humid the past couple of months that the change in temperature has certainly come at the right time. Speaking of change, as Jared and I were walking home from the supermarket the other day, I was thinking of the change we have endured in the little time we’ve been here already. Since leaving the States, I’ve had to learn to live without things that others may consider necessary; an active cell phone plan, a car, air conditioning, clothes dryer, hot water (we were without it for a week), but it’s all the price of living here.
Lately, I’ve even noticed my makeup game to be very minimal to non-existent most days, which Jared encouraged me to write a post about..future blog post? Possibly. I wish I could say I could live without these things forever…but who am I kidding. As soon as I return to the states, I’m sure I’ll be sucked back into the American way of living. Until then I’m taking full advantage of la dolce far niente.
My 1 year blog anniversary is coming up soon. I remember starting La Casabloga as if it was yesterday. If anything, I wish I would have started it sooner. It has been my passion, hobby, and such a great way to unwind by writing and sharing things with you all. I want to do something special for my one year anniversary. I’m thinking about possibly re-designing my blog with a completely different look as well as I hope to put out more content (possibly twice a week)?? That would be my next goal. I feel like I have been very goal-oriented lately and I really enjoy crossing small goals off my list. Recently my last blog post How to Find the Perfect Foundation Match got the most “likes” in the history of all my posts in the past year. May not seem like a big deal to some, but to me it’s something worth celebrating.
All my love,
Estrella
Congrats! I love little victories like that. And when your blog is your baby, you notice EVERYTHING I swear. I notice which posts do the best and how many likes I get, etc… I would love to see a new blog look! You should go for it. 🙂
I didn’t know you were planning on coming back to the states! I think I assumed you’d chosen to permanently reside in Rome. Do you have a date set yet? Being in Europe always makes me appreciate my American life, but I would still rather live in Europe haha (which probably says a lot).

thank you Emily! yep, it literally is my baby that I created from nothing so little things like that make me really happy. And as much as I love being here, I don’t think I can be away from my family permanently. So we hope to be here for one year, so we would be back July 2017 or around that time.

Love this outfit, although a simple look it still looks great! The printed top is so adorable. Crop top + a nice print it doesn’t get any better. lol

The small wins should be celebrated just as much as the big wins! It’s great to hear that you’re in a goal getting state of mind! I hope you’re able to knock them all out of the park!
